When this worldwide pandemic has finally run its course and the airlines open back up for travel, don’t waste time arguing over where you are going first. Use the extra time you have now to daydream and plan the perfect beach getaway. Take a look at these five stunning locations and start shopping for the perfect swimming suit now!
Porthminster Beach - Cornwall, England
Though England doesn’t scream “beach vacation,” you shouldn’t write it off. It too is a delightful place to have some fun in the sun. Located just outside of St. Ives, this beach is great for families and offers ample parking by the beach. You can rent chairs or just lounge in the golden sand. You will almost forget you aren’t in a tropical location when you visit here!
Cape Drastis - Corfu Island, Greece
Is there a beach in Greece that isn’t gorgeous? This particular one is accessible by boat only, as it is nestled between imposing cliffs in the Ionian Sea. The sand is fine and resembles clay. Though the water is shallow, this beach is not recommended for children, as high winds often blow through this part of the island.
Bestouan Beach - Cassis, France
Ah the French Riviera, arguably one of the most stunning places in all of France. You could pick almost any one of the beaches in the Riviera, but this one is sometimes less crowded. It has a pebble waterfront and is just a short walk from town. Be sure to bring water shoes so your feet don’t hurt from the small stones and a thick towel and you’ll be good to go!
Sakarun Beach - Dugi Island, Croatia
Relax on this beach located on the northwest coast of Dugi Otok Island. The white sand is beautiful and the pine tree forest that surrounds the beach makes for a wonderful backdrop and some much-needed shade from the sun. Swim in the shallow turquoise waters and enjoy the beauty which surrounds you.
Pizzomunno Beach - Vieste, Italy
This lovely location has gorgeous white stone cliffs and one particularly large limestone pillar jutting out of the water. Legend has it that the pillar is actually a young man named Pizzomunno who was turned to stone by sirens! Vieste is in southern Italy and the beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming and leisurely strolls. The shallow waters are perfect for kids to splash and play.
Are you ready for a swim yet? Any of these beaches would be the perfect spot for you to soak up the sun and practice your best breaststroke. Start daydreaming now about the perfect beach vacation for you and your travel companions. There’s no time like the present!
