Siam Park in Tenerife, Canary Islands

Siam Park in Tenerife, Canary Islands ()

During spring break of 2024, my family and I went to Tenerife in the Canary Islands with another family. We stayed in Tenerife for six days, arriving on a Thursday and leaving on Wednesday of the next week. We stayed at the Sol Costa Atlantis Hotel. The breakfast was delicious and so was the dinner. The hotel had a pool, but it was not a heated pool. The rooms were also very nice. If you go to Tenerife, I recommend the Sol Costa Atlantis Hotel.

While we were in Tenerife, we went kayaking, which I did not enjoy. A lot of people are afraid of the ocean, and I am one of them. We went to the local zoo called Loro Park, which is also an animal embassy. An animal embassy is a place where the people that work there go to rescue animals and train the animals. Loro Park in Tenerife has helped twelve different types of birds not go extinct.

After the zoo, both families and I went to Siam Park, which is a waterpark. Siam Park has been awarded number one waterpark in the world for nine years in a row! From 2014 until 2023, Siam Park was number one in the world from TripAdvisor. Siam Park’s theme is based off of Thailand. Their mascot is a dragon. Siam Park has a very good wave pool, a lazy river with a slide and a couple of seals you can see when you first enter the park. I recommend that families should go to Siam Park because it is a really fun place to go to if you do not always want to go sightseeing.

Whale watching is another fun activity to do in Tenerife. We went for two hours: one hour in the water, a quick fifteen minute stop, and one hour back to shore. We saw a manta ray and a couple of pilot whales. Pilot whales are very fast and they enjoyed putting on a show for the passengers on the boat. We got very hot on the boat, so I recommend bringing some water.

Tenerife is also known for their bananas. We went to a banana plantation to see how bananas grow. There were also chickens that were very rude and wanted to eat the bananas that were complimentary . I noticed a chart that talked about the bananas that are from the Canary Islands and the bananas that are from America. The chart showed the different nutrition values, and the bananas from the Canary Islands have a higher nutrition value than the bananas from America.

Overall, Tenerife was a fun experience and I would love to go back. If you do not have plans for summer, I recommend you go to Tenerife for summer break. If you want to have fun, go to the waterpark and the zoo. If you want to learn, go to the zoo and the banana plantation. Tenerife is the place to go and has something for everyone.
