HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — The Military Child Education Coalition® (MCEC) is excited to announce the opening of its 24th annual Call for the Arts program. The competition highlights the diverse experiences of military-connected children around the world.
“For over two decades, the Call for the Arts has provided a unique window into the lives of Army, Marine, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard dependents, showcasing their extraordinary experiences, cultures, and opportunities,” said Becky Porter, President and CEO for MCEC.
Young artists are invited to submit their creative works through April 30. The competition welcomes visual art, photography, poetry, and performance art. MCEC will award 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Spotlight winners from grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 with Amazon gift cards.
Winners will be announced in mid-May and receive a special invitation to attend the MCEC Global Training Summit, taking place from July 29 to 31 in Washington, DC. Additionally, noteworthy entries will be considered for inclusion in the MCEC 2025 calendar. They will also be featured on MCEC’s social media platforms, website, and various projects throughout the upcoming year.
MCEC encourages military-connected parents, professionals, and educators to inspire their students to participate in this enriching opportunity. Interested individuals can find contest guidelines and entry form on the MCEC website.
