Every year, Army Emergency Relief (AER) fund awards the Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship for dependent children of U.S. Army dependent children demonstrating financial need.

AER is “is a nonprofit organization with the primary mission of providing financial assistance to Soldiers and their dependents in time of valid emergency need. The MG James Ursano Scholarship Program is funded by donations and was established in 1976 as a secondary mission to help Army families with undergraduate college expenses for their dependent children.”

About the Scholarship Program

  • Applicants will have to submit a FASFA form

  • Awarded for up to four years of study at the undergraduate level or technical school

    •  Must re-apply each year

  • ·Number of awards and amount awarded vary by year

  • Applications due by April 1, 2024
