Ask anyone stationed overseas which fast-food chain they miss most, and you’re likely to wind up with an almost unanimous, “Chick-Fil-A.” The delectable fried chicken sandwich and waffles fries are so popular, people are known to sneak the delicious contraband back into Europe with them. However, you won’t have to hoard those sauce packets for quite as long because Chick-Fil-A has finally opened its first European location in England.
For those stationed in the U.K., you’ll have to drive a bit. The popular chicken chain is located in the Oracle Center in Reading – approximately two hours south of RAF Alconbury, a little over an hour south of RAF Croughton, two hours southwest of RAF Lakenheath/Mildenhall and an hour east of RAF Fairford. If you’re craving the full menu, you may have to wait. Currently, the menu offerings include their famous chicken sandwiches, nuggets, waffle fries and bottled beverages. And yes, just like its U.S. counterparts, the restaurant is closed Sunday.
Chick-Fil-A is open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located in the Oracle Center, Reading RG1 2AQ.
