Andrews Federal Credit Union was recently awarded the 2024 U.S. Department of the Army “Distinguished Credit Union of the Year” designation for its USAG Benelux location. This is the fourth time Andrews Federal has been honored as a Distinguished Credit Union by the Department of the Army, and the third consecutive year the credit union has received this designation.
According to Andrews Federal President and CEO Ken Orgeron, the credit union is honored by the repeated recognition and the acknowledgement of the credit union’s commitment to serving the military. “On behalf of our Board of Directors and Committee members, Senior Management, and the entire Andrews Federal staff, we are proud to serve our military service members and to support them as they manage their finances and achieve their goals,” Orgeron said. “Receiving the Distinguished Credit Union of the Year designation for the fourth consecutive year underscores our commitment to providing financial resources that fit the needs of the military community.”
Andrews Federal provides financial support to more than 8,900 US members assigned to NATO, SHAPE, and the three US Embassy locations. The credit union offers a variety of products and services designed with military service members, including those deployed overseas, in mind.
Through Andrews Federal, military service members have access to low-rate loans, higher rates on deposit products and low-fee, high-value products and services. Andrews Federal provides proactive solutions specifically designed for military service members. The credit union offers assistance for unexpected costs through its Utility Relief program, as well as offering payment methods like Euro Bill Pay or affordable wire transfers to meet the needs of deployed military service members.
Andrews Federal team members also actively engaged with the military community, providing more than $30,000 and 425 volunteer hours to support 75 local community initiatives. The credit union contributed financial support to local schools, scouting troops and community programs; participated in morale and welfare initiatives; and created connections with members. As an example of the credit union’s commitment to serving military families, the overseas branches are staffed with team members who fluently speak 18 different languages and can use them to serve members and ensure they are heard and supported.
