I’ve put together a comprehensive 10-day itinerary for your based on my Ireland trip featuring things to do, where we ate and where we stayed. If a day doesn’t include a breakfast or dinner suggestion, it’s either because I got coffee from the local Starbucks or I simply forgot the name of the restaurant and searching of Google Maps proved fruitless.

This list consists of days nine and ten of the trip. Day nine was spent in Dublin because we had an early flight the next day and day ten was waking up at 4 a.m. and driving back to the Dublin airport, dropping off our rental car and catching our 8:30 a.m. flight.

Day Nine

  • Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery in Offaly.(Shopping and Photo Stop) (You can take a tour | we didn’t have the spare 2.5 hours)

  • Drive to Dublin: Check in at Hotel: Zanzibar Locke

  • I also used this day to add to my hunt for the best European McNugget. Ireland is country number 11. Learn more about that here.

  • Jameson Distillery Bow St. (Reservations Required)

    • We had a 5:45 p.m. reservation, but they squeezed us in with the 5:30 tour.

    • This was a combination tour and tasting and I highly recommend it. You can also get drinks from the onsite bar afterwards.

  • Dinner at The Gallery Restaurant at The Church  (Yes again. My spouse really liked the music and dance performances)

    • I recommend: The Irish Stew; it was my last night in Ireland, so I had one more chance to eat Irish meat-and-potato based dishes. To Drink? I was a fan of the Nojito and Ginger Mule.

Day 10

  • Travel Day: Any last minute sites in Dublin before you drive, fly, train or bus back home.

    • Our initial flight was a 12:30 p.m. from the Dublin Airport, and we had intended to do one last walk around Dublin before our flight. Lufthansa had different plans. They cancelled the 12:30 flight and we had to get an earlier flight home.

    • We gave ourselves four and a half hours to return the rental car and go through security. The rental car drop-off area was not in the terminal area, but they offered a shuttle from 5 a.m. onwards.

    • We had plenty of time (because of the early flight time I assume) and were able to meander the airport stores and grab at coffee and pastry near our gate as we waited to board the plane.
