I’ve put together a comprehensive 10-day itinerary for you based on my own Ireland trip featuring things to do, where we ate and where we stayed. If a day doesn’t include a breakfast or dinner suggestion, it’s either because I got coffee from the local Starbucks or I simply forgot the name of the restaurant and searching of Google Maps proved fruitless. You can see the condensed 10-day itinerary here.

This list consists of days five and six of the trip which we spent in primarily in the car driving to a variety of famous photo stops. Have snacks with you and plan toilet stops beforehand.

Day Five

  • English Market in Cork

    • We walked around this quaint indoor market with our coffees, and I just imagined living locally and buying my meats, fruits, veggies and cheeses from the market.

  • Drive to (and through) the Gap of Dunloe area (photo stops)

  • Ross Castle (photo stop only from Nov-Feb)

  • Drive to Killarney and drop things off at hotel: International Hotel Killarney

  • Drinks at The Shire Bar & Cafe, a Lord of the Rings bar and restaurant (drinks only during the off-season. Reservation needed during popular times)

  • Shopping at the Aran Sweater Market

    • This was an awesome, large store that had a great selection of sweaters, dresses, scarves and hats. It even had an entire room dedicated to sale and clearance items.

  • Dinner at Murphy’s Bar

    • I recommend: the soup of the day to start. It was tomato and roasted red pepper the day I was there and was fantastic! The Beef and Guinness Casserole was delicious and hearty.  Yet, I still found room for sticky toffee pudding.

Day Six

  • Drive to Inch Beach (photo stop)

  • Drive to Eask Tower (photo stop, also a potential hiking spot but it was cold)

  • Drive to (and through) An Dún Mór area (photo stops)

  • Drive to Dingle and drop things off at hotel: Dingle Benners Hotel

  • Meander around the town and explore the quaint shops and stops

    • Unfortunately, some of the shops, like the bookstore, were closed, but I spent a half-hour shopping and chatting with the store clerk at Dingle Art Works and left with some beautiful prints. If your eyes get too big for your suitcase, you can order anything from their website, and it will be shipped to you.

  • Dinner at Mrs. Benner’s Bar (on-site restaurant at hotel)

    • I recommend: The soup of the day- it was Potato and Leek the day I went and was great. The Prime Hereford Striploin with the sweet potato fries was delectable. I ended with the Sticky Toffee Pudding, always a treat.
