Say hello to Benji and Debbie. This pair of photogenic Basenjis are our April pets of the month.

Basenji’s are interesting dogs. They cannot bark! Benji and Debbie’s favorite activity is chasing a laser.

Benji is originally from Sicily. His family was stationed in Vicenza, Italy eight years ago when he joined them. Debbie joined the family when they moved to Texas a few years later.

In 2022 they all moved back overseas to Stuttgart, Germany. Both dogs posed for these amazing pictures during a trip to the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. They stayed in the special dog-friendly rooms and enjoyed all the comforts of home. We think they make great spokesdogs for the hotel.

Debbie now lives with another owner. She and Benji didn’t get along, which made her very anxious. She is much happier with all the attention at her new home.

Benji can be stubborn, like many Basenji’s, but he turns into a model dog when the camera comes out because he loves the special prizes that come after. Way to go Benji!
