Look no further for what to do this coming weekend, Dec. 20- Dec. 22, 2024, in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC). We know it’s Christmas Market season. Click here for this year’s market directory.
1. Christmas Circuses: No matter where in the KMC you reside, there is a Christmas circus within a reasonable drive all weekend long: Kaiserslautern, Trier, Mannheim and Saarbrücken. Each show promises a spectacle and can include fun favorites such as funny clowns, magic acts and acrobatics.
2. “The Nutcracker”: What is the Christmas season without watching this classic show at least once? Although, I must admit the Rat King still freaks me out as an adult. See the show as performed by the professional Classical Ballet Naples in Kaiserslautern on Sunday or support local homeschooled youth by checking out their performance in Landstuhl on Friday.
3. Borschtsch Benefits Festival: Need a break from all things Christmas? Make your way to Trier on Saturday and Sunday for the Borschtsch Benefits Festival where you can taste Ukrainian treats, shop crafts and enjoy live music at this benefit “raising funds for an ambulance and essential medical equipment for the hospital in Lyman, Donetsk region.”
Kaiserslautern: Christmas Circus: Enjoy the spectacle until January 6th, 2025.
