Sitting in the sun, glaring at the calm sparkling lake, my gelato slowly melting away in the late afternoon Italian sun.

“Arriving in Italy, I noticed all the scenery, including forests and rivers. ”

During the trip, I had the chance to experience numerous things. The gelato was like never before; the creaminess and smooth texture were almost unreal. All the food in Italy was great, whether it be a delectable pizza, or a soothing soup. It was hard to leave.

The enchanting scenery is quite indescribable. The sparkling waters beside the almost ancient towns were of immeasurable beauty. Two of the greatest places were Lake Como which was a calm, wonderful, relaxing place and when I was there I watched the calm lake and its beauty moving along, and Pompeii where I saw the town and its destroyed buildings. On August 24, 79 C.E Mount Vesuvius eruption destroyed the town of Pompeii, along with damage to Herculaneum, Stabiae, Torre, and Annunziata along with other communities around the areas. This devastating eruption lasted two days.

At Lake Como there were many beautiful restaurants and other nearly ancient buildings dating back hundreds of years. The candle-lit restaurants had delightful cuisines, with many assortments of pizza and pasta. Some of my favorites being the margarita pizza and the fettuccine. It was hard to choose a favorite when all the dishes were of immense elegance and delectable tastes. Walking around, I saw the beautiful scenery, the lemon-yellow houses, almost illuminated in the bright sun, the crystal-like lake water reflecting in the sun as well.

“Sitting on the sand glancing at my surroundings I notice a gelato stand, once I point it out to my family we go and order some, as we eat it we watch the sunset as we slowly walk back to our AirBnb, where we get some much needed rest for the next day of even more activities. ”

I love being a military connected child, I get to experience so many new things, like my trip to Italy.
