February is known as the month of love. Typically, people get hung up on picking out the right card, perfect bouquet, sweetest chocolates, or perfect present for their significant other. However, one Kaiserslautern Military Community organization spreads love and warmth in a much different way.
The Rheinland Pfalz Quilt Guild opens their hearts to the babies being cared for in the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Members of the guild give their own time to create special quilts to cover the incubators. Not only do they aid in keeping each baby warm and comfortable, the vibrant colors help add dose of cheer to the room. When the baby goes home, the quilt goes right along with the family. The Ramstein Officers' Spouses Club provides generous donations for the guild to purchase the materials used for the quilts.
For more information on the guild and how to become a member, you can visit their website. You can email the guild at inforpqg@gmail.com if you're interested in donating.
This February, try to conjure up a new way to put a little love in someone else’s heart.
