If you love old cars, the weekend of June 16 is the one for you. Kaiserslautern Classics is revving up for its 11th annual exhibition all weekend and 6th annual Rallye Trifels race on June 17. In the center of Kaiserslautern, hundreds of vintage cars will be displayed free of charge for the enjoyment of the general public. There will also be music and food reminiscent of the eras the cars originate from, with dancers dressed in authentic costume from the 1950s and 1960s to immerse the public in a temporary time warp. The Rallye Trifles race is a special feature of the car festival, sure to be a highlight. Cars that are 25 years old or older are eligible to compete, driving a track around the Kaiserslautern area in numerous stages ranging in difficulty making it an engaging spectacle for viewers of all ages.

If looking isn’t enough, and you want to take a ride in a mint condition automobile, the city of Kaiserslautern has got you covered. On June 17, take a one-hour tour of the city in a 1950s Mercedes O 3500 bus. Tickets are 5 euros per passenger, with the meeting point at the Tourist Information office at Fruchthallstraße 14 in the middle of downtown. Take a step back in time and indulge your inner auto enthusiast this weekend with the Kaiserslautern Classics.
