As we near the end of our board year, CIAO is excited to host CIAO Week—an entire week of events from March 17-21 that are designed to celebrate our members and the greater Aviano Community.
CIAO (Community Integration of Aviano Organization) was born on Sept. 30, 2022, and since its rebranding, our focus has been on fostering inclusivity and deepening our connections both within the Wyvern community at Aviano Air Base and with our local partners off-base. Our mission remains clear: to strengthen our community and integrate our Wyverns with the people around us, promoting a welcoming environment for all.

With a long and rich history tied to the 31st Fighter Wing’s time here in Aviano, CIAO has grown into an organization that provides a safe space for members to connect, learn and grow together.
This year, we are thrilled to offer an exciting lineup of events during CIAO Week, aimed at building camaraderie, fostering personal and professional development, and celebrating the diversity of our community.
The week kicks off on Monday, March 17, with a Spouses Military Life Panel and Dinner, where members can connect over shared experiences and gain insights into military life. On Tuesday, March 18, we’ll host a Sherpa Class designed to help individuals navigate life’s many transitions and learn how to adapt to the inevitable changes that come our way. Then Wednesday, March 19, we will host a CIAO Informational Mixer and Board Meeting, providing an opportunity to learn more about the organization and how to get involved. On Thursday, March 20, we will host a Team Building Class through Wyvern University, encouraging collaboration and personal growth within a supportive environment. Finally, the week wraps up with some fun and relaxation at a CIAO Movie Day on Friday, March 21.
