On April 27, the German-American Veterans Initiative (GAVI) is hosting a motorcycle cruise and “blessing of the bikes” church service near Ramstein, Germany.
Veterans and their guests are invited to attend the church service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Quarry in Hütschenhausen. Motorcyclists are welcome and especially invited to a “blessing of the bikes.” There will also be a bike cruise to the quarry beginning at the MIRASCON Insurance office in Ramstein. Visit the GAVI website for more details.
GAVI is a non-profit organization aimed at bringing together Veterans who reside in Germany that are from both the United States and Germany. They are hosting the event in cooperation with the American Legion and the Association of the Reservists of the Dt. Bundeswehr Local West Palatinate Unit.
Although Germany and the United States have operated closely in the same theaters of war for over 30 years, veterans living in Germany are farther apart here than they were in the command center or on the battlefield. If you are a combat or non-combat Vet, support GAVI by being a part of the growing International Brotherhood of Veterans who, while living on foreign soil, learn and socialize with those of your host nation. The Vets from these two powerhouses have a chance to meet up and exchange those stories and experiences which are unique to those who have served in the armed forces.
