Do you hear that resounding whoosh? It’s a collective sigh of relief as area parents and kids showing symptoms of cabin fever welcome spring with open arms. After weeks of cold, rain and snow, the sun is shining once again — and Kaiserslautern’s beloved Dino Park opens this weekend!
Gartenschau Kaiserslautern kicks off the 2017 season on Saturday, April 1. Special events start at 2 p.m., when princesses, princes and their royal crew invade the park with music, art, antics and entertainment. The newly designed LEGO exhibition will also be unveiled. See Germany’s most famous buildings, including Neuschwanstein Castle and Cologne Tower, along with well-known architecture from around the world, constructed out of colorful bricks.
I recommend purchasing a season pass for the whole family so you can enjoy the park, along with its many special events, through the spring, summer and fall. You won’t want to miss the medieval market in April, the children’s festival in May or the impressive giant pumpkin sculpture exhibition in September and October.
