Europe has so many festivals it’s hard to keep them all straight. Though most of them are a variation of Oktoberfest, Perugia in Italy is celebrating something a little different - chocolate! This sweet event is known to attract 900,000 visitors to the beautiful city in Umbria. From Friday, Oct. 18 - Sunday, Oct. 27, indulge in every possible variation of the finest chocolate.
If you’d like to learn more about chocolate making, take a free class that is offered at various times throughout the festival. Enter the world of chocolate and go on a journey through the lands of cocoa daily from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the Santa Maria Della Misericordia church or head to the “In the heart of chocolate” international summit on Wednesday the 24th at 10 a.m. for some insight into the production of cocoa and the consumption of chocolate. You can also wander the streets of Perugia daily from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays until 11 p.m. and enjoy over 100 confectionary, artisanal, industrial and international brands of chocolate!
