Demucking Tanks in Poland (FRUTIGER Company AG)
Heavy military operations in the field often leave considerable dirt on wheeled and tracked vehicles. To ensure that the vehicles remain operational and that technical inspections are possible, thorough cleaning is essential before the next mission. The MobyDick Demucking systems from the FRUTIGER Company AG in Switzerland offer a quick and effective solution to this problem.
More and more military commands rely on demucking systems to clean their vehicles. The systems enable intensive rough cleaning of the chassis, underbody, and crawler tracks of light and heavy vehicles. With moderate pressure, heavy soiling is softened and washed away with several thousand liters of recycled water, so that in many cases 80-90 percent of all soiling can be removed after just a few minutes.
The water recycling system integrated into the system ensures that more than 90 percent of the washing water used can usually be recycled, while the sludge that has been washed off is automatically discharged with the help of the integrated scraper conveyor. If necessary, a second cleaning step can be carried out with higher pressure to clean hard-to-reach areas. This cleaning process only takes a few minutes, as the remaining sludge residues are already intensively moistened and can thus be easily washed off. By automating the washing process, the costs of vehicle cleaning are reduced, and the downtimes of the vehicles are reduced quite considerably.
This washing technology has already been successfully used for almost 40 years in the civil sector on heavily frequented construction sites, mines, and recycling sites for cleaning construction vehicles. Now, in recent years, it has been adapted and further developed to also provide the military with automatic rough cleaning options. The demucking systems are used by NATO as well as Germany, France and Poland, and have been successfully used during operations in Afghanistan and joint military exercise Anakonda.
