GRAFENWÖEHR, Germany - The Bavaria Community and Spouses’ Club (BCSC) recently held their 2024 Spring Cycle Scholarship and Community Outreach Grant cycle and are pleased to announce 14 scholarship recipients and 29 Community Outreach Grant recipients were selected from the applicants to receive funds. The combined amount awarded to recipients for this cycle is $82,472 from BCSC Community Welfare Funds.
In the Fall 2023 cycle, there were also fourteen scholarship recipients. Thirty-three Community Outreach Grants were awarded. The combined amount distributed was $79,485. During the 2022-2023 board year, the Club allocated $154,072 to the Tower and Rose Barracks community, of which 50 percent were grants to private organizations and local military units. These funds come from BCSC’s fundraising efforts that are primarily based on the profits of both the Grafenwöehr and Vilseck Thrift Shops as well as the annual Crown Jewel Bazaar.
During the Fall cycle’s award announcements, BCSC’s new Professional Education And Reimbursement of Licensure (PEARL) Program was introduced. The new PEARL program entitles qualified applicants to receive reimbursement on the cost of continued education (CE/CEU) instruction that is required to maintain career credentials/licensure.
