Parc Zoologique d’Amnéville Luminescences (Janine Rodriguez)

The Amnéville Zoo in France hosts a yearly Luminescences festival during the winter months. This beautiful nighttime display features thousands of light installations and lanterns along a 1.4km trail. Stars and Stripes reader Janine Rodriguez visited the display last year and sent us this incredible image. In 2024, the display will begin on Oct. 19 and runs through the end of January. This year the them is “Magic Indies” and includes illuminated lanterns from all over southeast Asia.

Roughly one and half hours from the KMC area and two hours from Spangdahlem, the Amnéville Zoo features over 1500 animals in habitats from around the world. There are also immersive experiences like farm animal visits, raptor shows and wallaby feeding.

Visit the Amneville Zoo website for tickets to the animal displays and the Luminescences festival.
