Traveling to a major city like Rome may seem intimidating to your wallet, but with this money-saving itinerary, you can enjoy beautiful Roma without breaking the bank.

10. Grab a bite to eat at Pastificio Guerra located near the Spanish Steps. This quaint shop sells fresh pasta as well as other Italian favorites. The menu changes daily and most dishes are 4 euros which include bottomless water and a glass of wine.

11. Be cultured in art with the Rome Art Tour. This tour includes the works from Michelangelo to contemporary street art. Tickets are 28 euros with Like a Local, a travel planning guide made by locals. The meeting point is at Borgo Pio.

12. Hit up Rione Monti, a trendy spot for shopping and nightlife. From 8 p.m. onwards, this square becomes a meeting place for friends.

13. Indulge in some gelato at Palazzo del Freddo Giovanni Fassi. This decadent low-priced dessert will be much needed, especially on a hot day.

14. A trip to Rome wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Buy tickets online ahead of time for the cheapest option.
