After a very fun visit to the Prague Zoo, I was itching to visit another! Luckily the Neunkirchen Zoo is close to home in the KMC, and my people were so kind to indulge my hopes of escaping our regular routine walk around our town.

The Neunkirchen Zoo is about 30 minutes from Kaiserslautern towards Saarbrucken. We visited on a Sunday and easily found free parking down the street.

Tickets are for sale at the entrance and even I needed one! My ticket was only two Euros, but I had to promise to stay on leash during my visit.

Because we visited before Easter, the zoo entrance was decorated for the season with eggs hanging from trees and a little photo spot. My man person and I snapped a picture there to remember our visit!

The Neunkirchen Zoo is not too big, which made it perfect for our day trip! We saw lots of animals like a snow leopard, meerkats, penguins, storks, yaks and so much more! My lady person was excited to see all the baby animals, especially the lambs. She thought they were all very cute… but not as cute as me, of course.

While I don’t really care about seeing the other animals like my people do, I did enjoy saying hi to some small people. They were fascinated by me. Greyhounds are not super common! My man person was able to practice his German to tell the kids that I am from America and am 10 years old.

Before leaving, we visited the gift shop. I was hoping my people would buy me a stuffed animal to cuddle with, but they said I have too many already. They bought some local honey and a magnet to send to my grandma.

I had such a fun day and I hope my people bring me back for the Zoo’s annual Christmas Market.
