During your time in Bahrain, the need may arise for you to visit the Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit (NMRTU). The clinic provides routine primary medical care and services to active duty military members and their families. For services other than primary care, patients are referred to a host nation medical facility for specialized care.
TREATMENT DIFFERENCES
While there may be some cultural and treatment differences in Bahrain, rest assured that the medical standard of care you receive is the highest quality. Although there are a few differences in medical practices, NMRTU staff are in constant collaboration with the host nation medical partners, ensuring a positive outcome and experience for all patients.
GIVING BIRTH IN BAHRAIN
Giving birth in a Bahraini hospital can be a wonderful experience. During your pregnancy, you can receive prenatal care at NMRTU if you are eligible for care. Please inquire with the clinic for eligibility requirements.
Community Resources
The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society holds Budget for Baby Workshops which provide financial education and resources to expectant parents. Participants leave with a gift card and handmade baby blanket. Contact bahrain@nmcrs.org for more information.
