We are looking for articles written by military-affiliated kids in elementary, middle and high school. Connect with your community and share your adventures and experiences as a military kid stationed in Europe. 

HOW TO SEND YOUR STORIES!

FIRST

Type up your non-fiction article and then edit it. Keep your word count between 200–600 words, total. The work must be your own. Plagiarism or use of AI authorship (like ChatGPT or Co-Pilot) is NOT allowed; all stories will be check for AI use.

NEXT

Send us an email at EuropeSubmissions@stripes.com. Make the subject: “Youth Writer.”

Include these as attachments:

  • Your story in .doc or .docx format. Hint: If you use Google Docs to write the story, go to File-->Download and pick “Microsoft Word .docx” to save it correctly, then drag it into your email.

  • Any pictures you took. This is totally optional, but we like getting pictures to go with the story. Please avoid any full-face shots of other people.

  • A Youth Contributor Agreement. Download the form and sign it with your parents. This only needs sent with your first story! We keep it on file, so you can send more stories later.

LAST

We will email you back to let you know that we got the story, and later we will be in touch about publishing it on the StripesEurope.com website. Sometimes this takes up to a month, so please be patient.
