School is in session but that doesn’t mean we cannot nerd out on the weekends. This month we are featuring medieval fests, science fiction conventions, pop culture events and historical reenactors.

RATCON 2024: Aug. 30- Sept. 1: Limburg: Shop new items, walk artist alley, attend a panel or listen in on a lecture.

Grayskull Con: Aug. 30- Sept. 1: Lennestadt: Do you “have the power?” Meet up with fellow “Masters of the Universe” fans, enjoy panels, raffles and exhibitions.

Weekend of Hell: Aug. 31- Sept. 1: Oberhausen: Meet guest stars and snag some autographs, attend panels, workshops and more at this horror-themed con.

Annotopia 2024: Sept. 6-8: Rotenburg: Featuring fantasy-themed markets, culinary treats, Vikings, pirates, medieval knights, artisan crafts, music and entertainment.

Medieval Festival: Sept. 6-8: Selb: Attend this large medieval festival where you can camp, take part in workshops based on music, dance and combat, shop markets and more.

Connichi: Sept. 6-8: Wiesbaden: Spend the weekend at “Germany’s largest volunteer anime and manga convention.” Enjoy guest appearances, stage shows, lectures, workshops, competitions, shopping and more.

50th Imperial City Festival: Sept. 6-8: Rothenburg ob der Tauber: “Historical groups from different eras of Rothenburg history meet for the Imperial City Festival.” See the knight’s camp out, watch the troops march through the city and meet medieval citizens at this history-themed festival.

Comic and Manga Convention: Sept. 7: Hamburg: Featuring comics, manga, artists, dealers, cosplay and publishers.

AiKon Bonn: Sept.7-8: Bonn: Leave the kids at home for this 18+ event for “fans of Shounen Ai, Shoujo Ai, Boys Love, Girls Love, Yaoi, Yuri, Bishounen and Cuteboys!”

Children’s Comics Day: Sept. 8: Berlin: Bring the kids for a day of readings, workshops, face painting, crafts and more.

Gamesvention 2024: Sept. 13-15: Kempten: This weekend is all about classic and modern gaming: video games, board games, tabletop games and more. Play games, buy games and rent games.

Medieval Market with Knight’s Tournament: Sept. 13-15: Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg: Cheer on your favorite knight, shop the markets and more.

Proud Nerd - The Weekend of Ice & Fire: Sept. 28-29: Burg Satzvey in Mechernich: Meet stars of the show “Game of Thrones,” enjoy Q-and-A sessions and shop vendors.

Great Game Gathering: Ramstein Enlisted Club (on the Air Base): Every Thursday: Bring your own board game or borrow one from the club. Drink and snack specials are available.

Friday Night Magic: Ramstein Air Base: Every Friday Night: Meet up with fellow Magic the Gathering enthusiasts for an evening of gaming.
