Animals can do some pretty extraordinary things! Did you know…

Snails can stay awake for 30 hours or more and on the flipside, can hibernate for three years.

Owls can twist their heads 270 degrees. That’s almost an entire circle!

The cheetah is the fastest land animal running up to 80 miles per hour. Yet, the Peregrine falcon can fly as fast as 200 miles per hour.

Axolotls have amazing regenerative powers. This means they can regrow missing limbs, tails, spinal cords and even parts of their brains.

The Mantis shrimp can see more colors than we can even imagine. They have 12-16 different photoreceptors, while humans only have three.

Capybaras are the largest rodent in the world.

Electric eels can transmit a shock between 600-800 volts. That’s enough to power an electric car!

Eagles have the best eyesight in the animal kingdom. They can spot prey up to two miles aways.

Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backward.

Reindeer eyeballs which are gold in the summer, turn blue in the winter to help them see at lower light levels. They are the only mammals known to have this ability.
