Flanders Field American Cemetery in Belgium will host a ceremony on Oct. 27, 2018, at 3 p.m. to mark the 100th anniversary of American operations in Belgium during World War I. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Important information for those attending the ceremony:

  • Parking restrictions near the cemetery will be in place beginning on Oct. 27, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. and road closures will be in place beginning at 2 p.m. Only those with special parking passes will be permitted in certain restricted areas. See the map for details.

  • The visitor center will be closed to the public on Oct. 27, 2018 beginning at 2:30 p.m. The visitor center will reopen on Oct. 28, 2018, at 9 a.m.

  • Restrooms will be available behind the visitor center building.

  • Plot B and C will be closed to the public during the ceremony.

  • For those decorating graves, please place all flowers prior to the start of the ceremony.
