If you’re looking for something truly different to do, here’s your chance! Just 48 minutes (45 km) south of Kaiserslautern, tucked into a peaceful corner of the Palatinate Forest, a herd of llamas awaits.

The next planned guided tour is Oct. 25 at 11 a.m., however hiking is possible in all seasons and is suitable for all groups. Whether you are looking for a unique children’s birthday celebration, a school or family trip – the llamas and their handlers can accommodate.

Llamas have long been used as pack animals throughout human history. Archaeological excavations from South America shows that the use of the animals began more than 5,000 years ago! Llamas are generally calm, balanced creatures but they will spit to express dominance in a herd … or if they become extremely irritated or feel threatened.

Be nice to the llamas and they’ll be nice to you, and treat you to a one-of-a-kind hike in the Palatinate Forest.
