Although the first day of winter isn’t officially until Dec. 21, the first snowfalls have already dusted both real worlds and fictional ones, like Hogwarts in London.

The world of Harry Potter would be magical any time of the year – but it truly sparkles for the Christmas Yule Ball.

Beginning Nov. 18, visitors can experience holiday magic with "Hogwarts in the Snow", at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London. Long student tables in the Great Hall are decked out with a replica Christmas feast, icicles and snow glitter against Christmas trees and candlelight, and special-effects fires roar in fireplaces. Visitors can get a close-up look at a variety of costumes, props and model used throughout the Harry Potter film franchise, and learn how special effects brought the magic to life.

Tickets are popular and will sell quickly – so if you’re planning a trip to London, it’s smart to look into tickets now. There are even ticketing options to have dinner in the Great Hall on Dec. 11 – 13.
