Attention all nature lovers and foodies: Want to learn more about foraging wild herbs and fruits? Level up your cooking skills by making cheesecake out of dandelion, which doesn’t get more local than this! Experience the Wild Herb Foraging Workshop, held in Konken, just a few minutes’ drive from Ramstein. Under the guidance of a local wild food cook, you’ll not only learn what foods are safe, but you’ll also learn how to incorporate wild food into dishes any foodie will drool over. The class Taught in English by Peter Becker, experienced forager and wild food cook and preserver from Wiesbaden. Be prepared to cook a 4-6 course menu with foraged foods including acorn-oyster mushroom meatballs, green pepper coated Hallumi cheese and dandelion flower cheesecake. The class is held on May 18 from 2 – 6 p.m. Be sure to register online.
