Are you a fan of rock music and helping the environment? If so, Rock en Seine is the music festival for you! A wonderful medley of music and philanthropy, this festival has it all.
The Basics
Rock en Seine is a festival taking place from Aug. 23-25, 2019, in the elegant city of Paris. Hosts of the event have partnered with Plane´te Urgence to raise funds for forest restoration. For every euro spent at the festival, one euro will be donated to the foundation. For more information on the partnership and the work that this organization is doing, visit their website.
Pricing
There are a few ticket packages to choose from if you are interested in attending shows on more than one day of the festival. Two-day packages are 115 euros and three-day packages are 159 euros. If you are only interested in one set of acts, one-day tickets are 69 euros, with the option of paying 30 euros more to receive easy entrance to the festival, a spot close to the stage to view acts, one free souvenir, one free drink and access to a VIP area called “the Square”. This area is a large, grassy viewing area complete with WIFI, a bar, access to free restrooms, food, phone charging station and large viewing screens.
An option to gain extra perks is a rewards program called Rock Ambassadors. According to the event site, ambassadors are festival attendees who, “want to motivate their friends to attend the next edition and benefit from rewards or benefits.” For every ticket sold to a friend, ambassadors receive points. These points can then be redeemed for things such as tickets for the festival, t-shirts and tote bags, upgraded tickets, backstage passes and drink passes. To sign up for the Rock Ambassadors program register online.
Line-Up
The weekend lineup is packed with awesome musical acts such as The Cure and Major Lazer! Beginning on Friday, the first couple of acts include The Cure, Alice Merton, Fight, Balthazar and Doe. Saturday, Major Lazer kicks it off and is followed by Jorja Smith, 404Billy, 7Jaws and more! Bands such as Aphex Twin, Foals, Royal Blood, Agar Agar and Boy Azooga will be closing out the weekend on Sunday.
First Seine
For young people interested in the practice and performance of music, the First Seine is a wonderful opportunity. High school groups audition in front of a panel of judges and seven in total are selected. These seven groups will complete a discover course, receive coaching from six esteemed professionals and will perform on stage at the festival. Other than those seven performing groups, around thirty other school music groups are invited to attend the festival.
