EUROPE

What began as a simple suggestion on Facebook from a grandmother in Maui has become a call-to-action around the world. On Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, the Women’s March on Washington will take place near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The purpose of this non-violent protest is to bring awareness and to stand in solidarity of human rights, equality and justice. At time of publication, more than 380 sister marches will take place in more than 50 countries.

If you can’t make it to D.C., there are many local events taking place. In Germany, sister marches will take place on Jan. 21 in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Heidelberg and Munich. Throughout Europe, demonstrations will also be held in Brussels, Florence, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Rome and other major cities. For more information, visit www.womensmarch.com.
