Join Memorial Day flag placement at Saint-Mihiel American Cemetery
Stripes Europe April 12, 2022
()
The American Battle Monuments Commission hosts a special tradition at the American cemeteries for Memorial Day. An American flag and a host-nation flag are placed in front of every headstone. Because this can be a huge undertaking depending on the size of the cemetery, volunteers help with this effort.
Saint-Mihiel American Cemetery has 4,153 headstones, and we are excited to welcome volunteers to help in this important service project to prepare for our Memorial Day ceremony.
We will place American and French flags on each of our headstones on: Saturday 28 May 2022 at 1000 AM
