What happens when you put a foodie paradise smack in the middle of a moat surrounding one of London’s most beloved landmarks? The Tower of London Food Festival, of course! Soak up the last bit of summer from Sept. 12-15. Taste culinary delights and sip hand-crafted cocktails with the stunning tower and fortress serving as a backdrop.

With more than 15 executive chefs known the world over, street food vendors preparing scintillating eats, cooking demonstrations and live entertainment, there is something for everyone. Le Cordon Bleu is offering cooking classes for adults, as well as Le Petit Cordon Bleu for little ones. Admission to the castle is included, with the exception of Thursday evening. Visitors can take a guided tour with a Yeoman Warder (also known as a Beefeater), or explore the dark walkways and storied past on your own. Take a break and enjoy the sounds from the bandstand, or just sample all the deliciousness until your heart (or stomach) is content.

Know Before You Go

The Tower of London Food Festival runs from Thursday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 15. The fest is open Thursday 4-7 p.m., admission is £5 and does not include access to the tower. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult tickets are £24.70, children 5-15 are £11.70, and children 4 and under are free. There are two family ticket options: one adult and up to three children is £44.40, or two adults and up to three children for £62.90. VIP tickets and packages are available to purchase.

Parking near the tower is extremely limited, and public transportation is highly encouraged. The closest underground station is Tower Hill on the District or Circle line. Stroller accessibility may be restricted due to the cobblestone walkways throughout the tower complex. Dogs are not permitted, unless serving as guide dog.
