Visitors who have been to Ghent, Belgium know first-hand what a beautiful hidden gem this city truly is. It's hard to imagine this canal-laced city becoming more charming - but the Ghent Light Festival really makes the town sparkle.

Teams of international lighting artists will use Ghent as their backdrop as they create a stunning array of art - all based on using forms of light.

There are paths of art throughout the city, creating the opportunity for visitors to walk along specially created routes.

The show begins at night - and the event runs from 31 Jan. through 4 Feb.
