AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class
Baumholder Outdoor Recreation now offers American Kennel Club (AKC) S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes for puppies, ages 8 weeks and older. The 6-week course will teach new puppy parents the best way to communicate with their puppy, how to socialize them with other dogs, housetraining and more. At the end of the 6 weeks, your puppy will be tested with an obstacle course and, if passed, you and your puppy will receive the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy package. Package includes a certificate, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy medal, AKC puppy handbook, a discount on enrollment for AKC Companion Animal Recovery and a subscription to the monthly e-mailed newsletter. Book Buddies
The Book Buddies program helps children improve their literacy skills by teaming up with a dog to read books. The dogs are registered volunteer animals that have been trained and are great listeners. The Book Buddies program takes place every second Tuesday of each month, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Open to children, ages 5-12. Dog obedience courses

Outdoor Recreation dog park
Exercise your dog at Outdoor Recreation’s dog park! The fenced in dog park includes agility gear, an A-frame, a dog walk, long jump, a seesaw, weave poles and much more! Annual membership costs $100. Puppy Playgroup
Socialize your puppy at Outdoor Recreation’s Puppy Playgroup on the first Sunday of every month from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Socializing your puppy is crucial to their development, and a well-socialized puppy is less likely to be aggressive and fearful as an adult. This free playgroup is open to puppies, ages 8 weeks to 6 months. Puppies must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Playgroup meets at the Outdoor Recreation dog park next to the campground on Wetzel Kaserne. Contact Tim at Outdoor Recreation prior to your first playgroup session. SKIESUnlimited Dog Obedience Course
SKIESUnlimited and Baumholder Outdoor Recreation have teamed up to offer SKIESUnlimited Dog Obedience Courses. This fun dog obedience course is for youth wanting to spend time with their fury friends while teaching them simple commands. For youth ages, 12-18 or in grades 6-12. The cost is $35 for 4 lessons per month and will take place Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Wetzel Middle School Teen Center and the Rolling Hills Camp Ground.
