You can now sit in Stuttgart’s notorious traffic jams in an Uber rather than your own car. The ride-hailing service is now offered in Stuttgart and surrounding areas like Ludwigsburg, Pforzheim, Herrenberg and Esslingen.
Users will have not only have the option to select the typical UberX but also an Uber Green, an emission-free ride, as well as a taxi. Uber is also offered in Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
It has been a very slow roll to get Uber in some European countries like Germany, due to stricter government regulations and battles with the taxi industry. German Uber drivers will need a “private-hire” driving license before they can start accepting rides.
