The Norfolk Tulips flower fields will open to the public for a short period in spring. (Andrew Sharpe)
In late April and early May, the flower fields at Norfolk Tulips are open to the public. The bulb farm was used in “Wicked” as the backdrop for the rows and rows of flowers surrounding Munchkinland.
Norfolk Tulips has used the publicity as an opportunity to raise funds for Tapping House, a local hospice care facility which provides free comfort and support for adults with life-limiting illnesses. It is a registered charity.
For a few weeks in the spring, while the tulips are blooming, guests are invited to come wander along the rows of flowers to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. There are over 9 million tulips across 32 acres of fields, with the exact locations rotated each year. It is the largest display of tulips in the U.K.
Called “Tulips for Tapping,” visiting the open fields requires a pre-purchased ticket, with all proceeds benefiting the Tapping House.
This year Tulips for Tapping will take place from April 24 – May 5, 2025.
To purchase tickets and get visitation details, read about the event at the Norfolk Tulips or Tapping House websites. In previous years, tickets have sold out quickly.
