Blue waters, quaint villages and luxurious hillsides. A dazzling strip along the Mediterranean coast of southeastern France, discover the French Riviera on and off the beaten path, where medieval stones make up the coastal towns of today’s holiday resorts!

Cannes

Famously known for the Cannes Film Festival, Cannes is one of the spotlight cities of the French Riviera. Walk the Boulevard de la Croisette lined with restaurants, shops and golden beaches. Stroll through the old fishing village of steep stairs and find a small bar nestled into the side of the hill for the perfect day.

Èze Village

Between Nice and Monaco, the historical Èze village welcomes you with crooked cobblestone streets. Although it may seem like a set for a medieval movie, the village maintains the luxury of its surrounding cities with art galleries, cafes and a 5-star hotel. Èze is well-known for its botanical garden, Jardin Botanique d'Èze. Placed at the top of the mountain in a medieval fortress, the garden is not only perfect for nature lovers but for panoramic views of the Mediterranean.

Gourdon

A town of streets and gates with religious roots, Gourdon is another stone town on a hill. Previously housing four monasteries, there is a beautiful church at the top of the hill alongside castle ruins. The medieval castle overlooks the valley. You can’t go wrong in this charming village.

Sainte Marguerite Island

A fifteen-minute boat from Cannes, Sainte Marguerite Island welcomes you with the smell of eucalyptus and Aleppo pine as you enter a nature-lovers heaven. Here you can walk the marked trails for a botanical and historical tour of the island where you’ll find the pond of Bateguier, home to many migratory birds. You’re even allowed to bring pups on the boat to the island to join you on your nature walk if you so wish.

Monaco

Similar to Cannes, Monaco stands out on the Côte d'Azur. A sovereign municipality connected to France, the elegance of Monaco is unmatched. Plan a visit to the Prince’s Palace or Monaco Cathedral. Then, lay out at one of the most popular beaches in Monaco, Larvotto beach, which is free to the public.

A trip to the French Riviera would not be complete without dipping a toe into the waters of St. Tropez or eating a meal in Nice. Experience the nightlife, beaches and shopping of these two popular cities.

Whether it’s a hillside walk, a beach lounge or shopping bags in hand, walk away from the sea relaxed and well-fed. A must-see hub for tourists, hit these spots on your next holiday in the French Riviera.
