Berlin is famous, maybe even notorious, for its wild nightlife. The area around Simon-Dach-Strasse, on the east side of the Spree River has something for everyone. There are bars ranging from casual to trendy, plus Berlin’s best assortment of global food restaurants. The real highlight, however, is the neighborhood’s uniquely repurposed industrial area. Situated beside the train tracks are cutting-edge nightclubs and live music of all kinds.

Known for its techno scene, Berlin has no curfew, so you have unlimited time to visit some of the most famous clubs in the world. At the top of most lists is the Berghain. This international hot spot set inside a former power plant prides itself in being a judgment-free space where photography and recording are strictly prohibited. In fact, very few nightclubs in Berlin allow phone or camera usage. For a music scene mainstay, visit Tresor, Berlin’s first techno club. When heading out in Berlin, be sure to mind the dress codes and be prepared for waits during peak times (1-3 a.m).
