Wiesbaden, Germany, May 29, 2025 – Between June 2024 and May 2025, the Wiesbaden Community Spouses’ Club (WCSC) gave back over $260,000 to its community. This significant amount includes $106,500 in scholarships for 20 graduating high school students and 26 adults continuing their education, who were recognized at a ceremony at Wiesbaden High School on May 15, 2025.

“We are very proud to give back to our Wiesbaden community in such an impactful way through our grants, scholarships and community outreach programs.”

— Julie Boit Hodeen, WCSC Publicity Chairperson

Boit Hodeen continued, “It’s an incredible way to serve our community in tangible ways, and we are able to do it because of our phenomenal WCSC Thrift Shop, which is our primary fundraising effort.”

The club has also awarded 86 grants since August 2024. These considerable grants totaled nearly $136,000, supporting requests from local schools, private organizations, booster clubs, family readiness groups, scout troops, Eagle Scout projects and after-school activities.

“The wide reach of our grants program directly benefitted thousands in the Wiesbaden community,” said Boit Hodeen.

“It’s rewarding to see our contributions being used in such amazing ways.”

WCSC was also very active across the community this past year, both on and off post. The Community Outreach committee supported everything from back-to-school events, USAG Wiesbaden Garrison initiatives, funding Halloween candy for on-base families to help defray costs for candy distribution to trick-or-treaters, supporting its sister club’s bazaar off-post and distributing appreciation gifts for on-base teachers and childcare employees, just to name a few.  This equated to over $18,000 in community outreach impact.

“Our non-profit organization has 285 members, all comprised of volunteers,” said Boit Hodeen.

“We truly want to enhance our community’s well-being and make the most of our time here, demonstrating our WCSC motto, ‘Making Friends…Making Memories…Making a Difference.’  ”
