Get ready to enjoy your tea and crumpets; you're moving to the U.K.! Although thinking all British locals drive mini coopers and drink tea while munching on crumpets is a stereotype, some things are true about moving to England. Here’s a little insight to ease your fear or to feed your curiosity about moving to the United Kingdom.

1. Yes, The United Kingdom is full of good food and fish and chips happen to be one of them. The traditional British dish can be found in just about any local pub or restaurant. To keep costs down and soak up the grease from the food, this battered goodness used to be served wrapped in newspaper. After health laws were tightened, the tradition stopped due to hygienic reasons.

2. Most would not consider eating baked beans with their breakfast. Well, in England, they love it. Depending on where you’ve had a traditional English Breakfast, you should anticipate having sausages, bacon, tomatoes, hash browns, fried eggs and more. Yes, this breakfast is literally a mouthful, so make sure you’re hungry.

3. London is more than likely on your bucket list of places to visit. Although you will not be stationed in London, a quick drive down to this metropolis will not disappoint. Historical sites like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and The Tower of London will all double as history lessons and beautiful backdrops for social media.

4. You've probably only seen these guys in the movies, but contrary to what some may think, the Royal Guards are real soldiers that guard British royalty. In fact, they take their job so seriously that even touching them is grounds for retaliation. Take pictures but never overstep your boundaries.

5. The iconic double-decker buses are seen all over London. In fact, it’s an easy way to get around the city as driving in any city is kind of hectic. Park your car and cruise around town while taking pictures of London's iconic buildings and monuments. Make sure you grab a map beforehand. Traveling by bus in a foreign country can be a bit frustrating.

6. Your family and friends may ask if you’re going to meet the queen when you tell them that you are going to Buckingham Palace. Although meeting Queen Elizabeth may be far-fetched, visiting Buckingham Palace isn't. Guided tour prices range from 25 sterling pounds to 114 sterling pounds depending on which tour you choose.

7. For all the tennis lovers, Wimbledon is where you’ll want to be this summer. Starting at the end of June and beginning of July, England has hosted the Grand Slam tennis tournaments and have for many years. Depending on which court you want to visit, tickets can range from 25 sterling pounds to 225 sterling pounds. Who knows? You may see a celebrity or two.

8. Seaside towns are a great way to relax from it all. When moving to the United Kingdom, many assume that London is the only thing worth seeing. That couldn't be further from the truth. Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire is a charming seaside town that offers family fun and for surfer enthusiasts. It hosts one of the UK's biggest surf competitions. Planning ahead to enjoy a relaxing time at one of these towns could be worth the time and travel.

9. Located in the county of Wiltshire on Salisbury Plain, the mystery of who built Stonehenge and why it was made has been around for many years. This could be a chance of a lifetime to see this prehistoric monument that has been shrouded in mystery. The stones date back to 2500 BC.

10. Visiting sights and enjoying your leisure time is fun and relaxing. But what makes this place worth exploring is the people. British people are known for their politeness. They speak English with an accent, which is charming to some. Getting out and getting to know some of the locals will make your time spent in England more memorable. You may even make a lifetime friend.

Whether it’s shopping, history or just exploring the sights, moving to England will be one place that you're going to remember for a lifetime. So, get out there and start living!
