The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force have recently combined their resources to form the new DOD MWR Digital Library. There is so much available right at your fingertips and all you need to login is your DOD Benefits ID number and your birthdate.

First and foremost, for all of your reading needs, the library offers e-books, audiobooks, newspapers, magazines, comic books, graphic novels and encyclopedias from several databases and publishers such as the Wall Street Journal and National Geographic.

For those who want to know more about their family histories, the library allows you access to ancestry.com and Fold3, a service where you can access records from service members from the Revolutionary War onward.

Families with kids have access to tutor.com, Scholastic Teachables, video storybooks with Bookflix, NoveList Plus K-8 and so much more. This is a great resource for homeschooling families or parents who want to help their kids further explore their interests in books, movies, science, social studies and archeology.

Are you looking for new hobbies or to better your skills on something you already know? The library has an entire section dedicated to DIY. Learn automotive repair, gardening, cooking, acting skills, home improvement and entrepreneurial techniques. There is also an entire section on continuing kids. You can learn a new language with Mango Languages, watch a lecture series on The Great Courses or take a course with Universal Class.

For film and music lovers always trying to find the next great thing, the library offers access to Freegal, which provides listeners with about 15 million songs and over 40,000 music videos, and Kanopy, where users can watch over 30,000 thousand award-winning films and documentaries.

While your on-base library has a plethora of resources in and of itself, this newly designed MWR digital library is a great tool for those who live off-base and those who want unlimited, 24/7 access.
