Ravenna Gorge Market mug (Emily Poplawski (Facebook))

Emily Poplawski, thank you for this cozy mug picture with the flaming treat on top! The Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market in Germany is perfect to visit in conjunction with a trip to the Black Forest. This year, it will be held during the weekends leading up to Christmas from Nov. 22–23, Nov. 29–Dec. 1, Dec. 6–8 and Dec. 13–15, 2024. You will need to purchase tickets in advance.

Taking place beneath a stone railroad viaduct and in an often-snowy forest, this is one of the more unique Christmas Markets to attend. Stroll along the Nativity trail while enjoying regional wild specialties from local hunting or indulge in traditional market food and glühwein while shopping for handicrafts. For little ones, there is a Christmas post office where they can send a Christmas wish on a post card to Santa. For more information, visit hochschwarzwald.de.
