Take a unique culinary adventure through the lush trails between Landstuhl and Kindsbach! Back by popular demand, the third annual Kulinarische Wanderung will take place Saturday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 6. Listen to live music as you sample from the vast array of beers, and savor the local and specialty cuisines provided by some of the region’s favorite restaurateurs.

What to know

Where you’re going. The 3-kilometer trail runs between Burg Nanstein in Landstuhl and Bärenlochweiher in Kindsbach. You can start the hike at either place, and there is ample parking on both ends of the trail.

Bring cash. There is a hiking fee of 5.50 euros, and there is a beer pass available for 8 euros, which includes a souvenir mug. You can purchase the hiking and beer passes at either end of the trail. Each sample is 1.50 euros, so bring smaller change that you’ve been looking to use up. Once you fill up your beer pass, take it to the information center for a special gift.

Bring your appetite. There are six stations along the route. Each station will have different breweries represented and various culinary delights available.

Expand your beer taste buds. While there will be several large breweries on-site, many local, smaller brewers will also be present. If you’ve been wanting to sample specialty beers, or exclusive seasonal, craft-type brews, this is a great opportunity to try them out.

You don’t have to be a beer lover. If you’re not a beer aficionado, there are still plenty of options available. There will be a wine and sparkling wine bar at Bärenlochweiher, as well as delicious coffee creations.
