You can help support our Veterans and the Kaiserslautern High School (KHS) Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) this coming Veterans Day.

Join the local detachment for their Veterans Awareness March at the Kaiserslautern High School Track. Participants are invited to walk 22 laps around the track for a suggested minimum donation of $22.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Veterans Awareness March
  • November 11, 2024

  • Come anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

  • Kaiserslautern High School Track, on Vogelweh

  • All are welcome: individuals, families, units

Why 22?

In 2010, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reported that the average number of suicides from people with a military history or active service was 22 per day. Since that statistic came out, further reports have shown that Veteran suicides are nearly double that of civilian American citizens.

By joining the KHS Air Force JROTC cadets this Veterans Day you can help raise funds for Veteran support agencies. 22% of the march proceeds will be donated. The remainder will be used for programs at the JROTC detachment.

Support our Veterans, acknowledge the statistic and erase any stigma about seeking mental health assistance.

Visit www.mentalhealth.va.gov for details on programs available to Veterans.

The Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) and Military Crisis Line (MCL) are available 24/7 for free confidential mental health support.
