Do you have a great travel story or photo? What about a unique schnitzel recipe? Tips for living on or off-installation in Europe or ways to keep your military kids entertained during school breaks? Perhaps you have an adorable pet who travels with you across Europe. We want to hear from you.
How to submit a story for publication
We accept story submissions for our travel, lifestyle, military life, community news and kids sections of our Europe community website. These submissions are on a volunteer basis, but you have the opportunity to earn hours through the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS).
Email your pitch or polished story to contentteam@stripes.com..
Stories should be typed as a MS Word document, between 300 and 800 words and follow AP Style (Purdue OWL has a great guide). We recommend reading a few stories on our website to get a feel for the style.
Accompanying photos are always welcome, but not required. Submit as JPEG’s attached to the email, not within the Word document.
You will be asked to submit a volunteer agreement form and have the opportunity to submit a DD-2793 if you would like to earn hours through VMIS for promotions and awards.
If accepted, your story will be edited by our team of writer/editors, and we will inform you when the story will be published on our website. Some articles may even be pulled for publication in one of our print magazines or welcome guides.
