April is Month of the Military Child and many Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools hold special events to celebrate their incredible students.
At Wiesbaden Middle School in Germany, April 7–11, 2025 was deemed Wildcat Week, with fun activities each day like community high-fives, baby pictures, selfie contests, hidden mascots, lunchtime games or karaoke, and much more.
There was also a weeklong Best in Show art competition at the Wildcat Art Show in the school’s lobby. Art styles ranged from paintings and sketches to masks and clay. And, yes, cats featured prominently; the school’s mascot is, after all, a wildcat.

Students voted for their favorite art piece during lunch and the awards were announced at the Wildcats’ Got Talent performance that capped off this week full of festivities. Emceed by students Jordyn M. and Lillian L., the talent show featured 10 incredible acts.
From musicians and singers to a magician and plate spinner, the military-connected students at Wiesbaden Middle School are a talented group of young people.

The show ended with a bang as the self-stylized Blue Sigma Group (of teachers) took center stage with their rendition of “Blue” by Eiffel 65, bringing the school colors to life with silly costumes, skin paint and confetti. The students went wild.
“Wildcats Got Talent” ended the “Wildcat Week” celebrations in honor of Month of the Military Child celebrations and, as the bell rang, students laughed and jostled their way out of school for the weekend.
