Stars and Stripes Europe has partnered with Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) to let you know about a pet at NAVSTA Rota in Spain that is looking for a new home. Meet Sapphire.

Hello, my name is Sapphire.

I am 2-years-old.

I am a hound-terrier mix

I have been in the shelter for about two months

My favorite thing is to be with people! I love walking, running, playing in the park and just hanging out at home...As long as I’m with my family, I’m happy!

I would do best in a home with no cats (I chase them). While I do like being with other dogs, I’m very high energy so I would get along better with a dog who can match my playfulness! I love kids and do very well with them but I definitely need an active family with plenty of time for me; I get very lonely when I’m left by myself for too long.
