Some parents may be a little gun-shy when planning travels in Europe. Let’s be honest, it won’t be the romantic holiday you may have pictured prior to your pint-sized crew. However, you can still enjoy any European city with your kiddos regardless of their age. Not only do you have to keep them entertained, but you also have to keep them fed. Here are some options for experiences and restaurants your kiddos may enjoy that probably coincide with locations on your bucket list.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Science Center NEMO - With so many exhibits and activities, good luck getting them to leave!

Canal Pizza Cruise - Boats and pizza … did your kids just take off without you too?

Barcelona, Spain

L’aquarium - The whole family will “oooohhh” and “aaaahhhh” over the amazing aquatic exhibits. Check the feeding time schedules. They’re a must-see!

Pudding - The decor is reminiscent of an Alice in Wonderland tea party. Your young crew will be upside down in the restaurant’s play space, with materials for crafts and a large chalkboard.

Berlin, Germany

Labyrinth Kindermuseum - You won’t get any eye-rolling at this museum! Hours of hands-on play awaits for your 3- to 11-year-olds.

Kindercafe Wunderland - A fantastic indoor playground with a cafe for lunch or dinner.

Dublin, Ireland

Viking Splash Tours - A fantastically fun way to “sea” the city. The kiddos will want to ride more than once.

Jamie’s Italian - With four of his own wee ones, the owner really knows how to host his smaller guests.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Museum of Childhood - Watch your child’s amazement as they discover toys and games haven’t always been electronic.

S Luca - This restaurant is known for their ice cream, but you’ll want to try the bacon wrapped in pancakes!

Krakow, Poland

Wieliczka Salt Mine - Go underground and get a little dirty. Children will love the gear you get to wear.

PodWawelem - Great value, great meal, guaranteed family seating and a large play area for the kids … Done!

London, United Kingdom

The Transport Museum - Kids love things that go. Work in some education with all the fun.

Cereal Killer Cafe - A new and fun way to eat cereal. You won’t believe the variety and off-the-wall mixtures.

Paris, France

Museum of Natural History - They’ll only be disappointed if they’ve watched “Night at the Museum” beforehand, but they’ll still love all the exhibits.

The Villa Spicy - Stop in for Sunday brunch when they have special entertainment just for the kiddos.

Prague, Czech Republic

Children’s Island - You’ll enjoy walking over across the bridge and enjoying the water en route to marvelous playgrounds and sports areas.

Eating Prague - Half-day Food Tour - Why choose one place when you can eat your way through the city!

Rome, Italy

Gladiator School - Your kiddos get to experience an ancient combat style, in a safe space, so moms try to relax.

Settembrini Libri & Cucina - Have a delicious lunch while enjoying a local read a wonderful story. It’s ok if it’s in Italian. You’ll still enjoy the way the story is being told.

Vienna, Austria

Haus der Musik - For the best way for kids to experiment with music and instruments, outside your house! They’ll have lots of fun discovering classical music and instruments.

Family and Friends - The name says it all! The lovely play space will help the time pass quickly while waiting for food.

Getting the kids around the city can be half the fun. Most, especially toddler and preschool age, will love riding the subway or tram system and local buses. Even when you’re going to places they may not like as much, utilize local transport to give them something to look forward to.

Seeing the ancient cities of Europe may not seem to appeal to a younger crowd. However, there’s more out there than most realize. So don’t be afraid to take your little ones out on as many European adventures as possible.
